TrainPetDog Customers Speak

Why Hasn't Anyone Told You The Truth

Are You A Proud Owner Of A Brand New Puppy? Then you'll want to hear the full, uncensored truth about how you can avoid paying up to $1,200 to train your dog and still have a perfectly housetrained, well-behaved pet that responds to your every command.

If you are eager to "housebreak" your dog because you have to put up with it making a mess - pooping, peeing around the house - digging, scratching, spilling, destroying your furniture and other unruly behaviour - here's what you need to know:

You Can Control 99% Of All These Behaviors Without The Need For A Professional Trainer!

Because while these incidents annoy you when they happen - here is the real tragedy!

Some Pro-trainers charge HUGE sums of money to train your dog. But in truth they only depend on a few simple methods to get your dog to behave perfectly. What these high-priced trainers won't tell you is that these are methods anyone can learn. Methods that may seem incredible to the average dog owner but are actually quite simple.

Otherwise, how could so many dog owners like you train their own dogs? Check it out for yourself:

...I was having problem with her listening to commands like sit, stay and come...One thing the book mentioned was how hard it would be to get her to respond to the command COME. That was so true....I was able to speak to a trainer who gave me advice on the proper way of training Abby....Abby is now listening and following most commands. I would recommend becoming a member of the Elite Dog Club. They helped me and Abby.

Thank you for your training tips. The dog I took in last Sunday was an abused Cow Dog. Still young, I guess 1 year old. I think the tip of your umbilical chord was great. I have been using it. Though I can only stand it for 15 minutes at a time, because this dog acts like he's hyper on caffeine. He is only 4 days in my household, with another older dog, and hasn't soiled anything the last 2 days. I have to keep him a lot of times in the crate, hopefully that will become less over time. Again thank you for your free tips.

Over the last couple days of lessons you have sent us, my wife and I noticed that we are indeed just like every other Jack Russel owner and were rewarding both good and bad behavior without realizing it! After sitting down and reading the 2 lessons we have received. We have started changing our behavior which has immediately started improving Mina's behavior as well! (Just after only two days!!!!) We are eagerly awaiting each days lessons and look forward to sharing our progress with Mina! We are so happy we found you!

Firstly thank u so much, Tayto was waking me up every night at around 2:30 am, I would respond by angrily yelling at him to stop & he'd bark back & then my daughter would wake up at which point I'd put him outside & he'd softly cry on & off for the rest of the night... sad night for everyone would lose & be upset... I applied your principle of any attention even bad he perceives as good & that night when he barked at 2:30am, coz if Taytos one thing apparently it's punctual lol... I ignored it... he went back to sleep within half hr... happy & warm inside... thank u thank u thank u... next night he only barked twice before deciding going back to sleep would be the better option...

It made a lot of sense that any attention is attention to my dogs and so any reaction I have will encourage them to continue. I have always felt my biggest problem with training is I feel guilty, like I'm being mean when trying to train them. Housebreaking has been impossible with my pups....and I had resigned myself to the fact that they are too old to train at this point. But after looking at these first 2 days I'm re-energized and looking forward to working on training with my pups now! Thank you so much for making it so easy.

The Bichon Frise can be a real challenge. We even talked with her Doctor and Veterinarian about the challenges and lack of success we were having with our Bichone, "FAITH". She only said, some dogs learn potty training easily, whereas some puppies can take up to 7 months. Nancy. Richards@dogtraininginstitute encouraged us with 6 days to potty train. So being encouraged, we carry on our training with some positive results. The two free e-mails were very reassuring to us, at a time when we really needed it. Thanks, Nancy!

Thank you for all the tips. I have read the first two emails and found them pretty insightful. We have only had our Berner for close to 2 weeks and have already been inconsistent with his training. I am working on being more consistent as the days go by. Theo is 6 months old, stubborn, and a big clumsy oaf, but I love him to death because he is excellent with my 4 year old daughter ( who needs her own obedience training, it seems ). I also noticed that I tend to unknowingly reward bad behavior like when he jumps up. I have started to ignore him when he jumps up, and he is getting the idea. Thankfully. I look forward to reading more about Berners, and I am sure my Theo will benefit a lot from what I learned. Thank you.

Its been a hassle with trying to leave her home alone or even just leaving her in an area by herself. The emails about becoming the alpha and letting it be known to her has definitely helped a bit. Just in the two lessons so far, I can see a couple of mistakes I made which are evident to me now. I am about to experience my third , so it will be interesting to compare in my memory and the present, what I will have learned. I am always open to good suggestions, and hopefully my new little boy will be even better behaved ,than my two previous very loved ones. Thank you so much for the info so far, Rossi is only 8 weeks old and we've never had a puppy before so we're all learning together!. The jumping behaviour is definitely present with Rossi so we're trying your technique, he barks if he doesn't get attention so we're ignoring that now too. He's a fabulous little guy and we want him to be happy and healthy so we're eager to learn more. Thank you for your help so far, great to have you on our journey with Rossi

I'm enjoying reading your emails about training my baby, Faolan. I'm doing one command at a time. She's already sitting before receiving her food and I've gotten her to steer away from the cats. The next big thing I'm working on is biting (chewing). She nips and chews on me a bit, especially when I get home after work. I know shes telling me she's glad I'm home and wants to keep me from going anywhere else, but I have to stop this now. When she's grown up, it will become a problem. I've seen that she gets more stubborn when I punish her, so now I mostly go with ignoring bad behavior and rewarding good behavior. It works!!! Thank you again for all the tips!!

Thanks for your email. Yes I have found your first two emails very helpful. I have joined your course and started using the techniques. Ralph, as you predicted, is a jumper and, also as you predicted, I had got into the pattern of pushing him off or saying down and then petting him. Which resulted in him continuing to jump. Now turning away and waiting for him to settle with his feet on the floor is encouraging him to settle quicker. I notice he is now doing this when he approaches people outside of the home as well. So we are already making some progress.

So far I have been enjoying your emails that are filled with wonderful tips. My puppy is always jumping on me and biting my clothes. But after reading your email I understood why he does that. It was for attention. Ever since I started ignoring him when hes jumping or biting me, he has stopped doing that. Instead not he sits calmly by my side. When occasionally he does jump on me and u ignore him within just a few seconds he remembers that he needs to sit calmly for my attention. Thank you so much for this wonderful tip again. Thanks!

Thank you for your training hints. My daughter has a kelpie and she started using the ignoring technique when her dog jumped or barked unnecessarily from as soon as she got her from the pound. She was 5 and needed a lot of retraining. I took some tips from her and use the same technique with Charli with jumping up. As a puppy she learnt quickly and it is no longer a problem. She doesnt bark YET. She has been super quick at conquering commands of sit, down and stay. Nice to know I am on the right track. Look forward to more of your tips soon.

Something that I found particularly helpful about the emails on dog training is how all behavior-positive and negative, is done for attention and that any attention-even scolding, can have the opposite effect. Turning away from the bad behavior instead of acknowledging it may not come naturally to dog owners but in theory it makes sense and should make an impact.

Thank you for the mini course. It is very insightful and I love how you specialize in specific breeds and even go into detail about their strengths and weaknesses. Not all dogs are the same just how not all breeds are the same so you cant expect them to do exactly what a different breed is a pro at. So far everything has been straight forward and makes sense. Im a dog trainer, so I love learning new techniques and information. I dont know everything, so it is nice and very exciting for me to learn new things. I know this would be harder to do, but I wish you had a course(s) on mix breeds that take after different sides of the breeds so people can learn how to find that balance to satisfy the drive and personality of that dog with multiple breeds. Thanks again for the course I am enjoying it! Thanks again,

I started doing what you suggested about stopping and giving her a little tug then start walking again. I find that tip very helpful because she stops when I do that.

I thought the first 2 articles were very helpful and interesting. The thing I loved about article 1 was learning why German Shepherds tend to jump and do naughty things. I never realized that it was just to get our attention. I learned that even negative attention is good for them. For the 2nd article, I love the advice on getting Germans to stop jumping. I currently have a 2 year old female shepherd at home and so my family has been working on this with her big time. We are only giving her attention when she is on the ground. Its only been a couple days, but I see improvement. She rarely jumps on me anymore! Thank you so much!

Regarding the emails before, they have helped me a lot considering Sasuke is my first puppy! I have learned from the first email that you have to make training fun and make Sasuke want to listen to me. And then the second email taught me that most people still reward their puppy when theyre trying to punish them, such as still petting them after they stop jumping.

I found your tip about ignoring Brynn when she jumps or nips, then saying "good" when she stops. I'd been wondering about rewarding her when she stops because as soon as I'd say sit she would sit down and get rewarded. I can see where she would then view jumping as a trigger for a reward. It's working! Thank you!

Thank you for the training tips. In the first 2 emails it was important to learn that at times we reinforce negative behavior by praising when it ends. Our former dog was not a jumper but I'm not sure we were smart enough to know what we did to make that happen. Since I implemented your tips on entering and exiting doorways first, Yogi has become more attentive to what I say and communicates on a higher level. I am so grateful for all the tips and look forward to the grooming email. In the morning when we first wake up he rolls onto his back and moves back and forth while he grunts and groans so I'll rub his belly. The information about how to react when Wicket jumps up was helpful. I will certainly be putting that into practice in the future. Wicket is very loving and wants lots of affection. When our adult children come to visit she jumps up on their legs when they are sitting down and then they reward her by picking her up and petting her. She is 12 wks old today so because of her size she is everyone's lap dog. I like that she is getting good socialization from different people but it does make training her a little more difficult. I don't want to tell people they should not pet her when she is so loving. She is not at all dependent. She is happy to be petted for a little and then go on her way but she always wants to show affection when people first arrive for a visit. We have now had her for 6 weeks and are really enjoying her. Thanks for your advice.

Here is my feedback: I really liked the way of training that you offered in the last two emails. It seems a smart way and I didn't think of it that way before. We will be trying to apply that, and also to biting with the same principle. It's really cool how they look for attention, and how you train them by gratifying their want for attention in the right times. I never thought of the fact that they are satisfied with the attention they receive when scolded, and then afterwards when they are praised for stopping their bad behavior. I also love the emails with training tips.

Yes I've used a few of your tips and am finding them quite helpful. You're right the best way is to ignore the bad behaviors and then he returns on his own egar to please. I also find this helpful bc scolding seems to have the total opposite affect where he seems to just misbehave more. I'm not a scolder anyways so ignoring feels better for me too! Thanks so much!

We've loved learning the unique traits about our Siberian Husky Mr.Koda. He's still young but is learning fast now and he realizes we are his stable loving home. You see I adopted Koda from the shelter and koda has been in 3 different homes before me and so we can tell her been hit on. (Not okay!) And so teaching him through your simple one worded commands does seem to work and we've seen progress in our beautiful boy! He follows us out the door now rather than taking him on the lead! And he's even staying next to me or my significant other outdoors without a leash! So thank you so much for your tips and tricks to help us better understand kodas nature :)

I feel very grateful for this instructive and helpful book about training my Shih Tzu puppy. I have also been listening to the video, which is very comprehensive about all possible conducts of a puppy and its misbehaviors. In the video, you provide many instructions to replace these misbehaviors and correct it. Of course, this guidance that you provide give every dog owner peace of mind, due to our pets will be healthier, less anxious and enjoying life: they are going to walk around without barking, socializing with other people and dogs, etc. My little pet will be also happier at home. We now understand the behaviors it does according to its age. I know it is the result of many years dedicated to improving our pet's life. Sincerely grateful.

I just want to thank you for your emails and training guides. I am absolutely amazed at how quickly he is responding. I will tell you this little story:Yesterday is his second day of training. Your tip on only reacting to the positive REALLY works. So he was just going to make a wee in the house and I clapped my hands together and said No, picked him up and took him outside and just ignored him until he made his wee...and then I made a huge fuss. Later on in the day I took him outside to see if he wanted to wee and he started playing with me and biting my feet so hard it hurt. I clapped my hands together and said NO and he stopped, looked all dejected and went to make a wee and then turned round all excited. It was so cute...he knew I wasn't happy with him so he went to wee to make me happy. It really does work, thank you so much for your help. I have a 5 year old Beagle as well and I will definitely be subscribing for your emails for my Beagle. Thank you again.
