About
Mactavish, The West Highland White Terrier |
|
Mactavish, a
Purebred West Highland White Terrier was
adopted by
Karen Jones from
United States. |
Here's how
Karen Jones describes
Mactavish :
Lovable, energetic, wildman, true terrier,(terrierist)
full of mischief, playful, stubborn, curious, cute as can be, a whirlwind. |
Does
Mactavish 's behavior show the inherent West Highland White Terrier
characteristics?
When we decided to get another dog we researched several different breeds. being the wise people we are we got a westie, thinking there was absolutley no way these books were accurate.....well, we found out that he is exactly as they described westies.. we have had a difficult time potty training him, he chews on everything and.. so on, as goes the books. so, he is exactly as described in the books and at times more! |
Special Achievement of Mactavish :
He is a sweet baby, he is 9 months old now and we love him dearly. he tries our patience many times during the day. but he is always full of kisses and snuggles no matter how many times he gets corrected.
he roars around our kitchen table as if it is a race track at full speed and then turns around and goes the other way. his nickname is "mactavish the naughty", which he lives up to everyday. he loves people, he has never met a stranger, whom ever he sees he wants to greet them and have them pay attention to him, he is very people oriented.
he has managed to fill the void we had in our hearts after we had to have our springer put to sleep. |
Karen Jones's advice on what type of family should adopt
a West Highland White Terrier:
We are retired, and don't move as fast as we used to, so i would recommend someone younger with more energy and someone who can get down on the floor and rough house with them. we don't have a fenced yard, and i believe that he as well as his people would be much happier with one. westies require a lot of attention, love to be held several times during the day for 10-20 minutes at a time, so extra time is needed. he loves our 18 month old grandbaby and so i believe this dog would do well with little ones. |

Does
Macduff 's behavior show the inherent West Highland White Terrier

Special Achievement of Macduff :
Yes. puppies, like love, take patience! i know he will be "cool",behave, and be a "lover", like me! |
Jim Wheeler's advice on what type of family should adopt
a West Highland White Terrier:
People who love animals, esp. dogs! we now have two well-behaved, well-adjusted labradors, who at 12 and 9 years old are still playful and atttentive. i'm retired so i have much time to spend with "my boyz". i do know that they will be receptive to him, as they are great with all other dogs/puppies! |
