About
Kita, The Shiba Inu |
|
Kita, a
Purebred Shiba Inu was
taken in by
Rhonda J. Tollett from
United States. |
Here's how
Rhonda J. Tollett describes
Kita :
Kita is a white/blond color shiba inu with the reddish mainly on her ears. she is very feisty and somewhat territorial. she is a great comfort to me. when i am lonely for snuggles kita is always there. |
Does
Kita 's behavior show the inherent Shiba Inu
characteristics?
Shiba inu is not known as a lap dog, however, whoever made that statement did not know kita. kita loves to lay on my blanket on my lap or right beside me. she especially likes the electric blanket i use in my recliner. my greatest problem is sometimes she gets out and nobody realizes it and she runs off. i think there are so many different animal smells that she just goes. she has been gone for 30 to 45 minutes before and she is so small that she can be in a bush and you not see her.
kita hates water, baths are very stressful for me, we have a bar in our shower and we have to hook her up to keep her from jumping out of the tub. she also does not like her feet, ears or tail messed with. |
Special Achievement of Kita :
I get kisses for treats and she will turn circles on her hind legs for treats. she will also lay down and crawl on her stomach for a treat. if you are petting her and you stop she will nudge your hand or she will paw at your hand or arm. at night i say night night and she goes straight to her pen. when i go to work in the morning she will already be in her pen waiting for me to shut it. she loves to go on walks. she also plays catch with me she can catch a tennis ball in the air and she will fetch it and bring it back to me over and over again. |
Rhonda J. Tollett's advice on what type of family should adopt
a Shiba Inu:
I would not recommend a family with small children to get shiba inu. she gets very jealous of her treats and even her food when a child is around. my youngest son is 15 and she does great with him, but i have a great niece and kita has snapped at her before, so i make sure that when we have little ones around that i am right there or she goes in her pen. |
