About
Trick, The Papillon |
|
Trick, a
Purebred Papillon was
adopted by
Sandra Priestap from
Canada. |
Here's how
Sandra Priestap describes
Trick :
Male. |
Does
Trick 's behavior show the inherent Papillon
characteristics?
The barking, yes. |
Special Achievement of Trick :
They love being wherever you are, even the bathroom. they are so soft and cuddly, if they will sit still long enough. seems that only when they are tired and mellow, that they will snuggle in. |
Sandra Priestap's advice on what type of family should adopt
a Papillon:
They are now just pups, but small children or those who might not watch where they put their feet, would not be a good mix. i believe they might be best for adults who want companion dogs but who are able to take them for walks and use up their energy. |

|
Pippa, a
Purebred Papillon was
by
Cheryl Webber from

Here's how
Cheryl Webber describes
Pippa :
Lively, out going.loving, loyal, loves people. my husband bought Pippa for me when i was under going treatment for cancer.she helped me cope with the chemo and radiotherapy.Pippa stayed in my handbag when we went to the hospital and all the nurses knew her and loved her.she also helped other patients, she had a calmness about her as if she knew there was something wrong with us... |
Does
Pippa 's behavior show the inherent Papillon
characteristics?
Pippa, my papillon, is a very social dog as she goes to work with me every day and interacts with all types and ages of people, even other dogs. |
Special Achievement of Pippa :
Pippa was mated in november, her first litter at 16 months old we all looked forward to her little puppies arriving,Pippa was the runt of the litter so i was interested to see if she had a runt too,she is such a dainty little girl.one the 11th january Pippa went into labour right on time at 6 am ..my friend came over to be with her too,as time got closer we saw a head appear then a dear little puppy was born, but alas the darling little thing was deformed he had 2 stumps as front legs and his little heart was pumping so softly and slowly outside his little body he took 2 breathes then died, that was her only puppy, over the next few hours i saw a little dainty girl express her pain, sorrow and frustration in ripping her bed apart crying, whimpering and growling, who says animals dont feel heartache....i let her cuddle her little first born, she knew it was dead but i think she had hope..i took little ollie as we called him from her and placed him in a satin lined box i had kept in the wardrobe as we do,and we both said goodbye to a tiny little puppy we both wont forget.. |
Cheryl Webber's advice on what type of family should adopt
a Papillon:
Young, old, anyone can own a loyal papillon like Pippa, they pick up on so many things..when to play, when to be quiet..and when to show love to a person who is suffering... |
About
Happy Tanner, The Papillon |
|
Happy Tanner, a
Purebred Papillon was
adopted by
Evelyn from
Canada. |
Here's how
Evelyn describes
Happy Tanner :
Happy is a very happy papillon. his whole world is rosy if he can just be with us,he is quiet very rarely barks, and wiggles his entire body when he greets you.his coat is soft and silky. he is primarily white with two large black patches on his back. his face is black with a long white patch coming straight down the middel, with just a hint of
tan around the eye. |
Does
Happy tanner 's behavior show the inherent Papillon
characteristics?
His behavioris charateristic of the breed. he loves to be with people. he greets everyone with his tail wagging and his body wiggling as he circles their legs. he is pretty good at going to the bathroom his training sheet. but ohhhh if you leave him alone in a room for more than five minutes he will have a puddle on the floor for you when you return. he thrives on attention, wants you to play with him and his squeeky toys, when he is tired he wants to sleep near you or on you. he loves car rides and little children |
Special Achievement of Happy Tanner :
Happy is a house dog but he needs to exercise too.
we encourage him to run the 1/4 mile. we station ourselves at each end of a 22 foot hall and happy races from one one to the other non-stop at top speed until he cant run anymore and flops down at our feet.
happy used to bite my feet for attention but stopped almost immediately when i followed trainpetdog.com's advise. |
Evelyn's advice on what type of family should adopt
a Papillon:
Happy is an ideal travel companion and he thrives on attention. i would recommend a small family with a young child or an older couple that likes to travel by car or rv. papillons do best when they are given lots of love and attention. |
About
Gizmo, The Papillon |
|
Gizmo, a
Purebred Papillon was
adopted by
Anita from
United States. |
Here's how
Anita describes
Gizmo :
Gizmo is very smart! learns quickly! very loyal! cuddly! and exteremly loving!!! |
Does
Gizmo 's behavior show the inherent Papillon
characteristics?
Most papillon are described as hard to house break. not true with gizmo. i bought him at 8 wks. old and he was completely broke at 3 mo. i have read that they will bark at anything strange and are described as good watch dogs. i thing gizo barks too much for the papillons that i've read about. |
Special Achievement of Gizmo :
Gizmo (papillon) is very smart and learns commands and tricks at nothing. he can sit, sit stay, lay, lay stay, play fetch, and leave it command, come when called. he can also do tricks: weave through my legs, roll over, and sit up. he is only 1 yr. old and i don't want to over load him. i am looking forward to teaching him more tricks and seeing what else he can learn to do. i would love to teach him to dance. who knows he may be the next pet star. |
Anita's advice on what type of family should adopt
a Papillon:
I think papillons would better fit a family of at least 4. there is only my husband and me at home. paps have a lot of energy. i think they would be happy with kids who also have a lot of energy.families would have to realize papillons are delicate and shouldn't be with kids younger than 6 or 7 yrs. old. paps like to be active! |
