About Dougal, The Newfoundland

Dougal, a Purebred Newfoundland was adopted by Nicky Anderson from United States.
Here's how Nicky Anderson describes Dougal :
A great big loving bundle of black fur
Does Dougal 's behavior show the inherent Newfoundland characteristics?
Yes it does. he is loving, loyal and for his size very gentle. he adapts to my moods, is easily trainable as long as he thinks it is his idea. he is very protective if he preceives that i might be in danger.
Special Achievement of Dougal :
I don't think that people realize that a newfie can be a marvelous house pet. they are basically "couch potatos" and not a high maintenance pet. perfect for all ages.
Nicky Anderson's advice on what type of family should adopt a Newfoundland:
Everyone. newfoundlands adore children and are quite content to lives with old fogeys as my beloved dougal does

About Dotty, The Newfoundland

Dotty, a Purebred Newfoundland was rescued by Helena from United Kingdom.
Here's how Helena describes Dotty :
Full of life, loves people and very intelligent.
Does Dotty 's behavior show the inherent Newfoundland characteristics?
Yes, they say newfoundlands are the nanny of the dog world, how true i have four children which she follows everywhere, she will gaurd without agression. she is so clever she misses nothing, she can open the fridge door, work the ice dispenser, and when i get out the bath she jumps straight in (waist not).
Special Achievement of Dotty :
When we got dotty she had never seen the outside world or run free, so the first place we took her was the beach, she went daft loving the sand and water, i felt so proud of my dog watching her playing and for the first time enjoying life as every dog should.
Helena's advice on what type of family should adopt a Newfoundland:
Because newfies naturally loves water somewhere close to the sea or river would be perfect, and a family with young children would be ideal as they may be large but thay are so gentle and caring. thay do require at least 45minute walk a day so aslong as you can provide them with this i think newfoundlands are the best alround dogs in the world.

About Monty, The Newfoundland

Monty, a Purebred Newfoundland was adopted by Liz Longmuir from United Kingdom.
Here's how Liz Longmuir describes Monty :
A gentle giant
Does Monty 's behavior show the inherent Newfoundland characteristics?
Typical, good nature, friendly, loving and such a character
Special Achievement of Monty :
We discovered that monty had a serious defect in his back leg, and has had major surgery twice now. he is rather restricted in his walking and playing, but is the happiest chappy you could ever meet. not phased one bit.
Liz Longmuir's advice on what type of family should adopt a Newfoundland:
Love and patience is all they need. they fit into any circumstances, any situation and are so adaptable and accepting.
