About Piper, The German Shorthaired Pointer

Piper, a Purebred German Shorthaired Pointer was adopted by Kelly Foster from Canada.
Here's how Kelly Foster describes Piper :
Fully of energy, very smart, usually does what she is told to do ie: sit, down, wait (the usual). unconditional love and she loves her bedtime cuddles before i put her in her kennel at night. she loves to play ball, and enjoys her walks. her favorite toy is a "squeaky" ball.
Does Piper 's behavior show the inherent German Shorthaired Pointer characteristics?
Although she has had no formal training for hunting, she does point.
Special Achievement of Piper :
For 22 months old today, she is a joy to have around. a loving companion, can be demanding, loves to counter surf! very smart and loves to be the centre of attention. she is not aggressive but can be very protective of me. she loves other animals and thinks everyone and everything is her friend!
Kelly Foster's advice on what type of family should adopt a German Shorthaired Pointer:
No couch potatoes please! must enjoy walking -- on weekends we go for walks 5 times a day (usually each walk is about an hour long sometimes more), plus off leash play at least twice a day. during the week, because i work until 5, we still fit in 3 walks per nite (lasting 1/2 hr each walk).

About Dakota, The German Shorthaired Pointer

Dakota, a Purebred German Shorthaired Pointer was rescued by Joann from United States.

Dakota is tall and lean. beautifully marked with a brown head and ears, speckled coat of greyish brown and light grey with a well marked brown sadle. he is very gentle and warm disposition.
Does Dakota 's behavior show the inherent German Shorthaired Pointer characteristics?
We are having trouble housebreaking him. he is guessed to be 2 years old. but acts like he has been badly mistreated. jumps at every noise. he has made up with my husband and i now. but sometimes still seems afraid of us. i have been trying to read everything i can find about this breed.
Special Achievement of Dakota :
He is very special to us. i am sure as time goes on we will find a lot a special things.
Joann's advice on what type of family should adopt a German Shorthaired Pointer:
They say, even though they were bred to be hunters, german shorthaired pointer makes a good family dog, too. that is what he will be in our home

About Dakota, The German Shorthaired Pointer

Dakota, a Purebred German Shorthaired Pointer was rescued by Joann from United States.
Here's how Joann describes Dakota :
He is very good on the whole. we are in the process of housebreaking him and it is going well. your information has been so good. we now have the problem of poop. he has only gone when turned loose and now he has gotten over the shock of kennel and coming to live and accept us. when turned loose if he sees a bird he is gone. so what do we do?
Special Achievement of Dakota :
We love him dearly. he stays right with my husband where ever he goes. if he leaves with out dakota, he tries to follow him through the windows.
Joann's advice on what type of family should adopt a German Shorthaired Pointer:
Any family that has love to give a dog. our great granddaughter is 2. she can hug him and push him and dakota never takes any negative action.
