About
Lenny, The Dachshund |
|
Lenny, a
Purebred Dachshund was
rescued by
Susan Brott from
United States. |
Here's how
Susan Brott describes
Lenny :
He is beautiful golden/beige,caramel dachshund with a white chest & rust colored dapples. his muzzle has a white line down it.
various colors of brown and beige and rust spots ar emixed thru his thick very soft fur. he is a long haired dappled dachshund.
he has the most gorgeous features and it is very hard not to notice his human eyes. he loves to be loved! which works out perfect! |
Does
Lenny 's behavior show the inherent Dachshund
characteristics?
He was bred to chase badgers underground and to have the self discipline to not back down. hence i have a dachshund that has a bark of a large dog and the stubbornness of a mule!
he is very sweet in his love for the elderly. he was a foundling, i do not have any idea about his first 4 years.
he was badly neglected though and had all sorts of skin and ear problems. |
Special Achievement of Lenny :
He is loyal and dedicated to me. he is up in years but his spirit and ability to keep up with my younger dogs is quite amazing. he rolls his eyes, like bette davis!
if he disapproves of anything, and is known to jump from our sofa to the marble table to get a better view of things!
i have a cow when i see him on the table, fearing he will hurt his back or damage his spine. he sits there and barks until i come into the room and see what he is in need of. this is a rare occurrence, but still pretty odd to see.
|
Susan Brott's advice on what type of family should adopt
a Dachshund:
Dachsunds have distinct personalities, i believe the long haired breed it a bit more laid back. a settled older person or someone who is home and would be able to socialize the pup would be good. dachsunds are not easy to house train, or maybe my two are not.
they are loving and somewhat intense, as they give affection and loyalty and can be very fierce when large dogs challenge them or they are known to challenge large dogs, since they think they are the size of
larger dog. my dog is part of my soul, we know each other from another time. he has no agenda, he demands little, so i shower him with love and research all his ailments and keep on top of his health needs.
if i were reincarnated i would like to come back to here....to me, as he
has a very good life, and at 13 years old i am hoping he can continue here for he has cheered me through the passing of my parents and several friends. he cries and laughs with me and offers his support by nuzzling me and giving me a kiss. we share the world together!
