Here's how
Wendi Nortman Paradise describes
Casper :
Amazing
Does
Casper 's behavior show the inherent Bearded Collie
characteristics?
His is definitely a weirdy beardie and finicky yet so smart and loving. he is not a watch dog and needs his space. casper is the love of my life. i had adopted him at 10 weeks with my then 4 year old son. he is the most loving perceptive happy go lucky delicious soul. i describe him as if he is a person because when i look in those big eyes it is as if i am looking at a human not a dog. when he was nine i gave him a baby sister who is almost four and although she tortures him he loves her and watches over her every day. he is a miracle dog who has survived 5 perineal hernia surgeries 4 of which were in the last 2 years. he runs and moves around as if he is a young dog. he such the love that i have kept him living when 4 surgeons suggested putting him down. the costs of surgery, manual emptying and enemas plus grooming have cost a small fortune but killing was never an option. to know casper is to fall in love.
Special Achievement of Casper :
He is such a sweet good bearded collie - he has turned dog haters in to loving him. casper just melts people. no matter where i go people comment on how cute he is and they still think he is a puppy. they are always shocked to hear how old he is. i think part of his wonderful personality is from all the love and respect i have given him since he was adopted at ten weeks old.
Wendi Nortman Paradise's advice on what type of family should adopt
a Bearded Collie:
People who have lots of love patience and love. beardies are also high maintenance as they need to be brushed daily. they do not come cheap. they are finicky eaters. i have casper professionally groomed every other week and sometimes in between i have to bath him to keep his hair clean from going to the bathroom.
