About Shasta, The Alaskan Malamute

Shasta, a Purebred Alaskan Malamute was rescued by Joanne from United States.
Here's how Joanne describes Shasta :
Sweet, lovable and like a child......loves to please.
Does Shasta 's behavior show the inherent Alaskan Malamute characteristics?
I am not sure whether his traits are typical to alaskan malamutes. but he is chews constantly. i want him to be a house dog....but he chews up anything that he can get his mouth on. he loves to chew on me as well. i have corrected him and put chew toys in his mouth......does not help. the kong does not help..i need help! he chews in front of us and without us. a crate would only end up as a punishment i fear and that is not good. even sitting on the couch while we pet him, he is looking for something to chew. it is bad!
Special Achievement of Shasta :
He does not meet a stranger. he loves attention.....cannot get enough. i recommend that you get one as a pup to avoid any unwanted behaviors early.
Joanne's advice on what type of family should adopt a Alaskan Malamute:
One who will allow him to be a part of the family. they are not thropies to be placed in the yard and left alone.

About Jah, The Alaskan Malamute

Jah, a Mixed Breed Alaskan Malamute was rescued by Taylore from United States.
Here's how Taylore describes Jah :
Jah is a wolf/malamute. he is gorgeous--a movie star dog. many people stop me to talk about jah. he prances and has a big fluffy tail. he looks like a wolf. he's huge!
Does Jah 's behavior show the inherent Alaskan Malamute characteristics?
Malamutes were pets of inland northern peoples who earned their keep by pulling whole villages on the move. jah has unlimited energy and strength. he loves to play with other dogs and will do so fo's hhhh hours. he will run from a pack fight and even protects kitties.
Special Achievement of Jah :
If i am very kind to jah and speak in a soft almost whisper, he seems to like it and minds better than when i talk loudly to him. at the end of the day, he loves to be told stories of what he did that day. he likes water and being cool. he will lie in a mud puddle.
Taylore's advice on what type of family should adopt a Alaskan Malamute:
I don't think a family should have this dog if they have small children. men love jah, so i would say he is a great pet for a single guy. i am a retired woman and i handle him pretty well but he still outsmarts me, so i have to stay sharper than he is--which is a good thing.

About Bowie, The Alaskan Malamute

Bowie, a Mixed Breed Alaskan Malamute was adopted by Laura Reed from United Kingdom.
Here's how Laura Reed describes Bowie :
Bowie is a dog with attitude. he loves agility he can jump very very high. bowie loves toys but thry dont last long, if you say to him " wheres your toy" he brings it to you but if you say " is that yours" i taught him and he shakes his head. we would class bowie as the joker/clown of the pack as hes so funny.
Does Bowie 's behavior show the inherent Alaskan Malamute characteristics?
Bowie is crossed with alaskan malamute a racing breed, bowie loves racing with a sled attached to him and he loves snow as if you chuck it he eats it.
Special Achievement of Bowie :
Bowie has won 4th place at his local dog show and we were really proud of him. bowie has different coloured eyes there mixed with light blue and brown.
Laura Reed's advice on what type of family should adopt a Alaskan Malamute:
Active family, wanting a loving companion he loves cuddles being on your lap even though he's not small, he retrieves toys but he cant swim properly.
